33rd Bilingual Speech Contest
On November 18th, 2012, Maya Kaizuka (G11), Thomas Khorana (G11), and Mrs. Mio Ranni represented MBIS in the Annual Speech Contest. The theme this year wasLet’s Strengthen our Human Bonds “Kizuna”. Competing against 11 other speakers, each of our representatives did a fantastic job and represented our school proudly.
Thomas was awarded the Friendship Prize for his speech about his strong bond with his Grandfather. The prize included a two night stay at Yoshima Camp for his family. Mrs. Ranni was awarded the Grand Prize for her speech about her volunteer work during the Hanshin Earthquake and the Tohoku Earthquake. The prize included a trophy from the Mayor of Kobe, a return trip to Cairns, and a Nikon Digital SLR camera.
