Marist Mail Winter 2011-2012

Happy New Year, and welcome to the Winter edition of the Marist Mail.

I hope that everyone had a relaxing Christmas and New Year, spending time with loved ones. This is a time for reflection on the year that has just passed. It is a time to look back and see all that we have accomplished and how much we have grown – physically, academically, mentally and emotionally. It is also a time to look forward. A time to set goals for the coming year, and I know that many elementary classes have been busy writing New Year’s resolutions and been discussing what they want to achieve for 2012.

I would also like to set goals for the remainder of this school year. I would like to have a successful school year with all students learning and making progress in a safe, inspiring environment. I would like the WASC visit in March to be a success and show how much we have grown since their last visit. My last goal is to do as much as I can to promote MBIS and its 60 year history in Kobe. As we celebrate 60 years, my goal is to ensure that it is around for another 60 years, bigger and better than ever. With uncertain economic times, it’s been tough going for all international schools in Japan (and, indeed, for most businesses); however, we have such a great school and a strong community. Together, we have the potential to build a very bright future.

Stay Safe,
