Applying to MBIS

The following steps outline the application process for prospective families.  Beyond these steps, we highly encourage families to take a school tour, or contact us if you have any further questions.  Please  review our Admissions Policy and FAQ before beginning the application process.

The application form

Download and complete an Admissions Application Form.

Documentation submission

Send the completed form to the school (hard copy or digital versions are accepted), along with the required fees and supporting documents, as listed on the reverse of the Admissions Application Form. Our postal address can be found at the bottom of the page.  Digital forms can be sent to: info@marist.ac.jp

Pre-entry testing

Parents/Guardians will be contacted by the school by phone or email. A mandatory interview and entrance test will be scheduled for your child. The test procedure and interview are age specific, and are used to evaluate language, numeric, and social skills. Please bring original copies of supporting documents on the testing day. Provisional acceptance may be offered to overseas applicants where in-person testing is not possible. This is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Acceptance

If you are applying during the school year, you will receive a formal written response within 10 business days, from the date of testing. If you are applying for the next school year (August admission), you will receive a status update no later than May 10. The Admissions Team uses the supporting documents, the interview, and test results, to determine eligibility, level of support (if required), course and grade placement.

Final documentation submission

Following acceptance, applicants must submit follow-up documentation to the school. This varies by applicant, but may include forms such as probationary contracts and computer usage contracts. All applicants must submit a completed Health Form before starting at MBIS.
